   The Lutte surname was first found in Saxony, where the name emerged in mediaeval times as one of the notable families of the region. It's a variation on the name "Luther," as in Martin Luther. Spelling variations include Luther, Lutter, Luter, Lueder, Lueders, Leuther, Luethi (Switzerland), Leuthiold, Luethold, Lutte and many more. The Coat of Arms features a silver shield with two black stripes and three buckles
   Our lineage traces back to NICHOLAS LÜTTIN, who was born on the 12th of May, 1660, in Oberwiehl, Baden, Gemany. He married AGATHA BERGER and they had a daughter, MARIA LÜTTE (27 Jul 1689 - 1735) of Oberwiehl.
   Maria married CASPAR TRÖNDLE (08 Jan 1687/88 - 07 Sep 1756), in Rotzel, Baden.
   Agatha died on the 22nd of January, 1715/1716. Nicholas then married a woman named MARIA DIETHALM on the 7th of April in 1718 , and then had nine more kids. Nicholas died on the 25th of May in 1745.
   A hundred years later, MATHAUS LÜTTIN, the treasurer of Oberwihl, would sign Ignatz Wenk's passport to emigrate to America.
