Ucker Family Genealogy
The surname was first found in Pomerania, where this aristocratic name emerged in mediaeval times as one of the notable families of the region.
Our lineage to this family can be traced as far back as JOHANN UCKER, from Willaringen, Baden. Nobody knows his date of birth, but he married a woman named MARIA SCHLAGETER, of Hanner, before 1705.
JOHANN ÜCKER and MARIA SCHLAGETER, and was born on the 14th of January, 1705, in Willaringen. She died on the fifth of January, 1777, in Rotzel. Johann Ücker died on the ninth of January, 1710, in Willaringen.
They had VERUNA UCKER on January 14, 1704/5 at Willaringen. Maria died a few months later, in March.
Veruna married BERNARD GASSMANN of Rotzel, Baden, Germany, on the fifth of May in 1728. They had nine children, including our ancestor, JOHANN GASSMANN, born on the fifth of September in 1733.
